Joining a sale

The sale page shows these rules before the sale opens.

A sale uses one of two eligibility rules.

Open sale. Any wallet can join, within three limits that apply to everyone:

  • a wallet cap, the most one wallet can commit;
  • a minimum, the least a wallet’s total can be;
  • a participant limit, the most wallets the sale accepts. Once it is full, new wallets cannot join, but wallets already in can still top up.

Allowlist sale. Only listed wallets can join, each with its own cap. There is no minimum. The app proves your place on the list when you commit.

  • Your first commitment must reach the minimum, if the sale has one.
  • After that, top up by any amount while your total stays within your cap.
  • A commitment is credited to the wallet that signs it. Nobody can commit on your behalf.

Some sales lift wallet caps for the last part of the window. The sale page shows when the phase starts and who it is for.

  • For eligible wallets: wallets that could already join can commit more than their cap.
  • For anyone: any wallet can join, including one not on the allowlist. These wallets have their own minimum and participant limit, both shown on the sale page.

A no-cap phase only lifts wallet caps. Whether the sale stops at its target is set separately, by its hard cap.

Most sales keep accepting commitments past the target and fill everyone at the same rate. See Your allocation.

A hard-capped sale stops at its target instead, first come, first served. The cap can apply from the start or from a later point in the window, shown on the sale page; before that point, the sale accepts commitments past the target as usual.

  • If your commitment would pass the target, only the part that fits is taken and the rest is returned in the same transaction.
  • Once the target is reached, the sale accepts no more commitments.
  • Wallet caps still apply, unless a no-cap phase has started.

The team also chooses what happens when a hard-capped sale is full. It either closes and can launch at once, or it stays open until its end time and launches then. The sale page shows which.

You can commit from the sale’s start time until its end time, or until a hard-capped sale is full. A commitment that arrives a moment late is rejected, so do not wait for the last second.
